- How is ManageCert different from UptimeRobot, StatusCake, or Better Stack?
- Those are HTTP uptime monitors with SSL checks bolted on (or sold as paid add-ons). ManageCert's entire product is property hygiene: SSL certificate expiry, domain registration expiry, and DNS record changes — in one tool, with consistent thresholds, AI-written plain-English alert explanations, and native Discord (which most competitors lack). If you want HTTP uptime monitoring, keep using one of them alongside ManageCert.
- Do you also do HTTP uptime monitoring?
- No. Intentionally out of scope. Uptime monitoring is a crowded category with great existing tools (UptimeRobot, Better Stack, StatusCake). We focused on the silent-failure category nobody else owns end-to-end. Pair us with a dedicated uptime monitor if you need both.
- Do I need to give you DNS access or install anything on my server?
- No. We monitor everything from the outside: TLS handshake on port 443, public RDAP for WHOIS, public DNS for record lookups. No server agents, no DNS account access, no API keys to manage. If your domain is publicly resolvable, we can monitor it.
- What happens at the end of the 14-day free trial?
- Your card on file is charged at the tier you picked. We email you 7 days before the trial ends so you're never surprised. Cancel anytime via the Stripe Customer Portal (linked from /settings/billing). If you cancel during the trial, you're never charged.
- Can I import a portfolio of 50+ client domains via CSV?
- Yes. /dashboard/import accepts CSV (one hostname per line or multi-column). We deduplicate against your existing list and report per-row errors. New domains show 'pending' until the next 06:00 UTC daily cron, then get a full TLS/WHOIS/DNS check and ongoing daily monitoring. Agency tier ($99/mo, 200 domains) is built for this — works out to ~$0.50 per client per month.
